{twilight heaven.. part one}

well well well.. im sitting here laughing, because i cant believe this trip really happened. it all started as a joke over a year ago, when jord went to europe on a 'boys trip'. so, i told him that i was going on a girls trip to do something twilight (cause he loves any mention of twilight). that's how long we've been talking about this trip. we obviously knew that they had a premier in LA with every movie release, and somewhere along the lines we heard "crazy twilight fans camp out for days to see the stars..." thats what got the wheels turning. and we didn't really start getting serious about going until about 2 months ago... and actually, we didn't even know we were serious until the car was packed and we were driving down the street.
a couple weeks before we left, i happened to be looking up some stuff because honestly, we had NO idea what we were doing, or what to expect. {and it was making our husbands/ mom &dad extremely nervous that us 5 girls were driving to LA without a definite plan} and i kept running into things that talked about wristbands. "GET YOUR WRISTBANDS", "YOUR WRISTBAND IS YOUR KEY TO EVERYTHING". so the only thing we had our eyes set on, was getting those wristbands. and we had to get them by 6 a.m. thursday morning. we pulled into LA about 12:30 am and decided to scope things out before we drifted off to get a few hours of sleep. we were told that no one could line up until 6 am, but really, we shouldn't have been surprised when we pulled up and there were already 50 people there. so we put our running shoes on, and thats where the no sleep and freakin good times began.

{upon arrival in LA at 12:30 am}

after chaos went down, and 12 hours of waiting in line (it was here that we realized we were dealing with a different breed of twilight fans). we finally got our wristbands! and even though our numbers should have been under 50, we ended up with the 220's. and out of 1200 fans, we felt lucky about it. (your number determined where you were on the red carpet. )
{i think this pic might have been taken after we had been up for 36 hours straight}

we heard we would be staying in a designated area called "tent city".
 it was inbetween ESPN, the STAPLES CENTER, and the NOKIA theater. and again, we had no idea what the heck we would be doing for 4 days while staying in tent city- we were prepared to play uno and paint our toe-nails. but we were pleasantly surprised how fun and busy it was, (and getting a kick out of the people we would meet!)

people immediately started decorating their tents when we got there...
and we quickly found out that we were not the craziest of the twilight fans. some of these peeps eat and breathe twilight... and organize twilight cruizes, get twilight tat's, devote their lives to follow the stars to all of the twilight conventions, lexicons, and know everything about their personal lives, etc.... seriously, it got crazy. (i decided not to post the pics of the posters that mentioned headboards and feathers..)
and check out these fools' tent...

ha ha, just kidding.. it was us!! (if we were gonna live among the crazies.. we were gonna embrace it fully!)
and it got us lots of interviews from the local news crews and such...

here are just a few of our fellow twi-hards.
{who come in EVERY age!}

another fun part of tent city was "twi-fi lounge". they handed out tons of prizes everyday, had contests, and you could dress up in a wedding dress and take a picture with cardboard edward. (we had to draw the line somewhere... jord would have served me the papers.) and worry not, we took breaks to go to the hotel room and shower and charge up the phones and cameras.
they also played twilight, new moon and eclipse each night we were there. and trust me, watching them surrounded by 1200 DIE hard fans is hilarious. we were laughing out loud when the place would ERUPT with screams when edward and jacob even opened their mouths. disneyland isn't the happiest place on earth anymore... tent city is.

on saturday, they started setting up a huge stage and told us there would be a concert that afternoon. we thought it might just be a bunch of local bands trying to make it big (isn't that why most people are in LA?) but it ended up to be 5 bands from the soundtrack that played their songs. it was AWESOME. and the soundtrack is one of my fave's! it was also emceed by charlie b, who plays "dimitry".

but the best part of tent city? we would all of a sudden see the peeps start booking it to a corner of tent city, and we knew what that meant...... a star. they would randomly show up (even at 8 am, you can tell by the pics that we did not know they were coming ;)

tinsel korey- "emily". thanks lady behind us who cut half of us out of the picture!
kellan lutz.. "emmet". he was probably my favorite, he brought 50 boxes of doughnuts and said "i just want you guys to know how much i appreciate your support, and there are no fans in the world like twilight fans! it means so much to all of us that you support us like this..." he was so sweet!

stephanie meyer showed up one morning with autographed books for everyone

boo-boo stewart -"seth", peter facinelli- "carlisle" he's so handsome in real life!, jackson rathbone- "jasper", and a couple of the new vampires came one morning as well and handed out breakfast to everyone.

so thats what all went down thursday-sunday. but hold your breath, because the premier is coming up next... and it deserves a post all in its own.
...........cause it was killer.
