catch-up

lets play catch-up for a minute.

relief society lesson- taught.
180 question anatomical kinesiology test- taken. {possibly the hardest test of my life}
100 question motor learning test-taken.
anatomy quiz- taken.
7 minute persuasive speech on why you should never talk on the cell phone while driving- done.
got my schedule figured out and registered for next semester- done.

this was what i had to accomplish the last four days of last week. im sooo glad its over.
doesn't it feel good to get a list of things done and checked off??
although i didn't love my major, as much, the last few days.......
{when did tests become over 50 questions long? i swear that has to be illegal!}
i am also quite appreciate that everyone studies what they are interested in.
because i love my major. {exercise science}
and this is why;

last thursday, i was in a cadaver lab. (where i am every thursday)
and i was holding somebodies brain. and somebodies heart.
to some of you, that may be absolutely disgusting.
but i was enthralled by it.
our bodies are absolutely amazing. a masterpiece.

and last friday, i was in our new athletic training center.
and like i try to do before every lab on friday, i go to the gym and run on the treadmill.
but last friday i was running on a treadmill that was UNDER WATER.
the coolest thing i've ever seen? uh... yes.

*these girls went right before me. it doesnt look like it, but they were running so hard and fast. the trainer said that they were running the same as if it were a 6 minute mile on land. there are videos under water so you can watch your self run.

you could walk on it, or run. and she would also put the jets on you so you were running against
alot of resistance. its supposed to be soo much better than running on hard pavement.
i will save my money so i can have one of these in my house one day. seriously. it was awesome.

VEGAS with the fam.
a few weeks ago, (okay, about a month)
and my dad was reffing the byu vs. unlv game.

the unlv fans looooved the fact that there were 15 of us,
and they threw out about every mormon joke at us that they could.
oh the influence of alcohol :)

HALLOWEEN
.
our halloween was fun this year. but i have to admit how boring we were.
we have been so crammed that we honestly had no time to come up with anything creative.
{i was at the library for 8 hours on halloween....}

but luckily, we have some creative, and awesome neighbors that invited us to a clue party.
we had such a good time, thanks ryan & leah!

we went as the lovely mrs. peacock and colonel mustard.

and then halloween, we headed over to our friends heidi and jason's and partied all night.
{dressed as the same thing... lame, i know.}

extreme home makeover

when we moved into our town house this summer, i was bored of our old home decor..

so i went through magazine after magazine,
interior design blog after interior design blog,
online catalogs of expensive stores,
and found out what i wanted to do.
{on a student budget of course}

it was fall break this weekend and i told jord that we had to get it done.
so alot of this has been happening this weekend....

and im extremely excited.

{thanks preston for pitching in!}

the computer lab.

due to the {recent and old} comments of "how do you have so much time to blog?" this post is a must need.

i have looked back at my posts and find myself complaining... i guess i need to be a little more cheerful.... about how my semester is absolutely insane. well, it still is. but then again, i wonder how many of you are thinking, 'if her semester is so crazy, why is she blogging?' so i think i need to explain.

i work at a computer lab.

my job as a computer lab consultant {that title looks great on a resume} consists of sliding student cards when students come into the labs, and paying for their printouts when they come up to the desk to pick them up. and answering an occasional question or two. and because im doing it for my fourth year, i've earned my way into getting the quiet computer labs that nobody comes into. three hours to do homework and anything else i want to do.

now you know why i find time to blog. and facebook. and find SWEET ideas from other blogs. like this one. and this one. and especially like this one. {you can thank me later} because i SIT at a computer for at least three hours a day. and i get paid to do it.

so.. YES, i do get a little agitated when people don't update their blogs for two, three or six months {cough. my sisters. cough} but then i realize that not everyone has an awesome job where they get paid to blog. and on the flip side...now you should realize that i actually dont wait on my computer everyday to update my blog, or wait for you to update your blog. okay, actually i do, but i'm on the clock while doing it.

all questions answered.

hello fall.

fall is one of my favorite seasons.
its absolutely beautiful oustide.
perfect weather. (not so much this year)

BEAUTIFUL color outside.
soup & crackers.
conference.
sweater season- and you dont have to wear a big heavy coat to cover it up!
lots of holidays.
pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
lots of birthdays.
oh ya, and its gorgeous outside.

we borrowed an awesome camera (thanks joe) and went on a little hike last week up logan canyon.
not as stunning as sardine canyon in the fall, but still sooo pretty.

although logan has its downfalls. this is not one of them.
we are so grateful to live in such a gorgeous place.
_______________________________________________________________________________

this weekend we went home to enjoy conference with our families.
we did a lot of laying around in our sweats. and a lot of eating.
the best weekend ever.

if you cant, so obviously, tell. pictures are taken from my iphone.. not as great.

{sorry jens. didn't mean to "out" you for not paying attention.}

and we were edified and uplifted. completely.
{elder holland. wow.}
we realized how blessed we are to be led by such incredible men; apostles and prophets of the Lord.
It reminded me of another one of Elder Hollands talks that i loved and was given in the Oct 2006 general conference. For the full talk, click here. But my favorite part said;

"Not often but over the years some sources have suggested that the Brethren are out of touch in their declarations, that they don't know the issues, that some of their policies and practices are out-of-date, not relevant to our times.

As the least of those who have been sustained by you to witness the guidance of this Church firsthand, I say with all the fervor of my soul that never in my personal or professional life have I ever associated with any group who are so in touch, who know so profoundly the issues facing us, who look so deeply into the old, stay so open to the new, and weigh so carefully, thoughtfully, and prayerfully everything in between. I testify that the grasp this body of men and women have of moral and societal issues exceeds that of any think tank or brain trust of comparable endeavor of which I know anywhere on the earth. I bear personal witness of how thoroughly good they are, of how hard they work, and how humbly they live. It is no trivial matter for this Church to declare to the world prophecy, seership, and revelation, but we do declare it. It is true light shining in a dark world, and it shines from these proceedings."

so powerful.

we also drove to sundance to my grandparents cabin and, again, we were absolutely stunned at how GORGEOUS it was.

happy fall.

2. me being SICK of being sick.
the stomach flu hit me for a day, while we were camping over labor day weekend.
(throwing up in a tent was as awesome as it comes)...
then i gave it to my little sister, who gave it to my little brother, who gave it to my mom..... etc.

then i was fine for four days. and in the middle of the four days...

3. my cousin blair got married. (so excited you guys are aggies so we can play!)

congratulations you guys! we're sooo happy for you.

4. we went camping a billion times.

image via google

family reunion at crystal hot springs.
& ward camp out (where we learned alot about our neighbors :)

5. we bought a car.

2005 chevy equinox entered our lives on monday, sept 14 2009
me and jord couldn't be more proud to have her.
{such a big purchase for us!}
but this little beauty is mine to drive! and i loooooove it.
we've been in the market for awhile... trying to share one car was getting rough.
and i didn't want to go through another logan winter with our little mazda.

what a world of difference having two cars makes.

picture taken via paige's cell phone= bad quality.

oh, and then JUST IN TIME for the week from HE** last week,
6. i got sick again. with the swine flu.
had an anatomy test, a speech and a biology test last week. my darling teachers took no pity.
YEP... saw a doctor. the swine flu. lovely. i was in bed for 5 days, its as bad as they say it is. i was as sick as a dog.

*** if you came to my house and saw that i was laying on the couch watching a show and didn't get up to get the door, now you know why. i wasnt allowed to let anyone in my house, or leave the house (without a mask on).***

so as you can see, i got really sick of being sick.
my sweet husband was such a doll. he deserves a trophy.
i really appreciate a healthy body now.

6. last, but certainly not least.....new moon.
i've been preparing myself. and i can hardly wait.

56 days people.
