i am NOT your biggest fan.
i mentioned on my last post that jord and i are in summer school. we are both wondering what the heck we were thinking when we thought that was a good idea. i'm the type of person that needs a break... and i should have remembered that. but i graduate in december, {hallelujah!} so i guess that was my reasoning. anyway, i needed to take physiology, which is a rough class, so i only wanted to focus on that one. but to qualify for a grant, i needed to take at least 6 credits, and physiology was four. long story short, i added on tennis and yoga. I played tennis in HS, so i knew that would be fun. and i've never tried yoga, so i thought i would give it a shot.
are you freaking kidding me.
i'm an exercise science major.. and i've been studying the body for five years now.. {5 YEARS!}. I know that people are more flexible than others. But holy moly, i am pretty sure that i am the LEAST flexible person in this world. This teacher is kind of crazy/insane too... which doesn't help me get excited about yoga.
Well, i just started the class on monday. It's everyday for an hour and a half, for three weeks. Monday was pretty much the average first day of class: Syllabus, Introductions, and we did a little bit of yoga. not too bad.
yesterday, second day of class: pretty rough. i went home saying "i dont think i like this kind of stuff"
today: absolute hell. {forgive me..}
first of all. i couldn't get out of bed this morning. i was so sore. and this morning in tennis, somebody decided to smack me in the head with their racket. and i mean SMACK. i blacked out. huge goose-egg on my forehead. {glad it missed my eye by an inch}. and its allergy season. which is bad news for me. needless to say, i wasn't in the greatest mood to start out yoga class with.
now, i'm a silent competitor. i get really frustrated when i can't do something, and somebody else can. its just how i am. so i was embarrassed enough not being able to do "the pigeon" {give me a break} but that dang teacher kept coming over to me and telling me to "go farther, straighter back, squat down more". what part of "ouch, that hurts" does she not understand!?!? i'm doing my best here, and i think i can feel each muscle fiber slowly tearing apart from the other, so please, just let me be and stop making me feel like a fool!{and please dont MAKE my legs go a certain way.. im pretty sure since its hard to move them, means that they probably shouldn't be moved!} and if you dont already know this, you are pretty much supposed to be silent through the whole thing cause you are supposed to be listening to your body. {mine was SCREAMING at me!} and it will distract your neighbors. i was honestly trying not to laugh so hard, at myself of course, cause i thought it was funny that i could not keep the pigeon pose for the five minutes we were supposed to. and there was no one to laugh with me, so i was left, looking like a fool.
anyway, i got death looks the rest of the class from mrs. yoga.
if i didnt need that one credit to graduate and keep my grant, i would probably call it quits.
sorry if i offended any yoga-ers. it just aint. my. thing.
i would just rather be sticking pins in my eyes. {pray that i survive the next three weeks.}

{weeding...}
its that time of year for me.
allergy season.
since i can remember, every year (about this time) allergies come upon me.
they hit me like a brick every time, and no matter what i do,
they always last a month or two.
its absolutely miserable.
i have a picture in my head of the last day of school in junior high
and i had a bottle of eye drops sitting on my desk while i was taking one of my final tests.
its always been this way and i think i've tried everything on the block.
and i mean EVERYTHING.
nothing works for me.
with that in mind...
i went down to my moms on saturday to help get a few jobs done for her.
i decided to do the outside jobs in hopes of getting some sun. because i have really bad allergies i knew i would be sneezing and have a runny nose for awhile, but had i known what would become of it, i would have picked organizing the scrapbook room instead.
four hours later...

32 sneezes,
2 very itchy red eyes,
5 trips to the bathroom to blow my nose,
2 packets of benadryl,
4 cut fingers,
9 different bandaids,
1 disgusting brown reclouse spider,
12 nasty worms,
and one VERY BAD allergic reaction later......
(red and burning hands & knees)
i forgot how much i hated weeding
besides benadryl, claritin, sudafed, tylenol/advil cold & allergy, nasal sprays, etc. does anyone have suggestions?

{seriously America?}
so if you haven't heard, the famous michael phelps was caught smoking marijuana....
ya. this is the guy who was in the olympics.
the guy whom i stayed up even in the wee hours of the morning to watch his events,
the guy who won 8 gold medals for his incredible athleticism,
the one is being called one of the greatest athletes in the world and maybe of all time,
the one who has surpassed hundreds of records in swimming,
the one who acts as a role model, and is on the front of my nephews cereal box
(the list could go on and on..)
and he's caught smoking marijuana.
for me, and this is strictly my opinion, could any choice be more stupid?
but America.. they voted and 80% said "he's 23, who cares?!?"
no, you can say that about my neighbor who is 23 years old, sits on his porch all day and smokes marijuana.
i thought we held Olympic and World Champions to a little bit of a higher standard.
seriously America?

how i ate my contact...
well peeps... i've lost it. here's how the story goes.
the other day i pushed the snooze button way too many times... but finally realized what i had been doing and JUMPED out of bed. i only had 15 minutes to get ready and get to the bus, and for any of you who know me, this is next to impossible. Especially at 6:45 in the morning! ----remind me to never take an early class again----- and dont think im high maintenance, i just set special time aside in the morning to eat breakfast... cause again, for those who know me, i cant go too long without food :) so i am seriously RUNNING around our apartment. the first thing i did was go to my bathroom and complete my daily routine.. finishing with my contacts. this is where it all went down.. i must not have "secured" my contact to my left eye, if you know what i mean. well, in a hurry, i HAD to eat before i left. so i threw together a bowl of cereal- and NOW looking back, i remember blinking and catching something fall into my cereal. 'must have been some captain crunch falling out of my mouth'. i then heard the bus coming down my street so i ran out of my apartment and chased the bus down...

10 minutes later....
im sitting in class, trying to look at the board and notice that there is a blurr in my left contact. it was making it SO frusterating to see what the teacher was doing at the front, so i tried to get my contact out right then... and for some reason, it wasn't coming out. i must have sat in class for 15 minutes squeezing the heck out of my eye to get my contact out. so i left and went to the bathroom. i looked in the mirror and saw that i had been pinching at my natural eye, there was no contact to be found.
it was then, sitting in the girls bathroom that i realized what had happened. that "thing" that had fallen into my cereal was not captain crunch.. it was my contact. and i had finished my whole bowl of cereal, which means what peeps? i seriously ate my contact.
but what was even more annoying than realizing i ate my contact was going the rest of the day (at school) with only one contact in. Only one of my eyes was seeing right, and the other was a blurred mess.. and RED, i might add, from pinching it for 15 minutes when i thought there was a contact in it.
yep.. i've lost it.

my very bitter sweet day
i woke up this morning and opened the door, and tried to holdback the tears... its may, and its snowing!?!? my reception is outside in two weeks, you might have to bring your snow boots, cause there is NO backup!
i just walked out of my last final.... seriously, there are NO words to express my happiness. i just wish i would have walked out in my flipflops and it would have been sunny. but who cares? IM DONE!
the love of my life, the one joy i have right now, my husband-to-be in two weeks is going to drive away to north carolina for what will probably be the longest 12 days of my life.
...and i still have lots of packing/cleaning to do.
but all in all, does any of this matter? probably not. cause im going to be MRS. STAPLES in 15 days! wahoooooooo!!!
