{st. george..}

This past weekend, we took our annual family baseball trip down to st. george for my dad's tournament. There is always good times, good food, good people..... and this year we added lots of rain. boo. It was pretty much freezing the entire time we were down there! lame sauce. but hey, we still made the most of it. We are excited to start yet another season of twolf baseball!
{thanks for letting me steal your pics, tare}

good times, people.

{the greatest game ever played..}

i think this is the longest i have been away from blogging, facebooking, and instagram and its been so nice! alot of big events have happened in my family and its been nice to enjoy time with them.

the last couple weeks have been so amazing with my family. and one of the biggest events was baseball. if you know us at all, you know that our family is all about baseball. its just what we do. my dad has been coaching it for over 30 years. and i wish i could paint a picture for you of how emotionally involved we all are about it, but there's no way. the team this year wasn't expected to do much, we even had to play a play-in game to get the 5th seed for our region to get into the state tournament. we lost the first game (double-elimination) so our tournament ride wasn't expected to be very long. but we magically won the next game. last monday, i was talking to my dad about what the plan was.... with one loss already, and having to play 7 games in the next 5 days with only 3 pitchers, you do the math.

except..........
monday, we won.
tuesday, we won.
wednesday afternoon, we won.
wednesday night, we won.
thursday night, we won.
friday morning, we won.
{i took many pictures, from many different games}
-and bless my angel child for sitting through all of these games, rine or shine. if you'll nominate me for the mother of the year, i would gladly accept... seeing as how my one-year old has a sucker or a piece of licorice in her mouth in almost every single one of these pics. and she never went to bed on time once last week. yep! that's me!

{ anything to keep the kiddies busy! ;) }

we just kept winning!

after that friday morning game, when we beat skyline 12-1 and were facing them again that night for the state championship game, my dad said "im afraid to be touched, i'm afraid to be pinched... i might wake up". we kept saying is this really happening? a team that had been counted out from the very beginning had just achieved the impossible and won 6 games in the last 5 days.

i know, i know.. there are a million pics of her. i just cant help it!

{we had a cheaper by the dozen moment.. so proud of our dad!}

after one of the most intense games i have ever sat through in my entire life, we lost in 10 innings.
it was so heartbreaking to be within one strike of winning the game, and have so many other opportunities to win. but to have that kind of comeback, and lose to class-less players & fans like skyline (they were horrid).. it was so hard. hard to see those boys, and my dad cry. because i'd never seen a team fight so hard for something.
and they didn't come to win second place.

this reporter wrote such a great article on the game.
he said  "Some people may wonder why I’d write this, why I’d focus so much on the losing side. Sometimes the winner/loser doesn’t matter. Sometimes what matters is the story itself, and everything that was given to make it happen.....I won’t remember the Skyline-Timpanogos game for who won and who lost. I’ll remember it because it was the greatest, most emotionally charged high school game I’d ever seen."

and this comment was on deseret news:

amen to that, brotha's.

we, as a family, had a very hard weekend trying to shake off the loss. baseball just isn't a game to us- its a way of life! i love those people so much, and was so happy to spend day in- and day out, supporting my dad and cheering on those t-wolves. you were #1 in our book, that's for sure. we love you, coach!
