{ my swimmin girl.. }

one of my favorite things about this summer is the one-on-one time i've gotten to spend with rowan at the pool. it's been verrrrrry nice living ten feet away from our community pool, cause when greer takes her morning nap, i take out the video monitor out, and rowan and i get to swim for a couple hours. at the beginning of the summer, rowan wasn't too sure about the water. she was great swimming with her floaties on, but she didn't really like to jump off the side, or actually 'play' in the water.. she just wanted to swim around and watch everyone else. well since we've been out so much, this girl is a total fishie now! she loves jumping off the sides all by herself and swim to the edge and get back up and do it all over again. and while she jumps off she yells "cannonball!!!" and now she even likes to swim without her floaties on. she's doing sooooo well. jord and i have to be with her, of course, but she can swim about 6 feet by herself to the edge.... and i'm amazed at how she goes and goes and goes. she rarely ever gets tired, she just wants to keep on swimmin! i'm so proud of her doing 

so great with the water and swimming. and i love spending this time with just her and i.

{ the carni's in town... }

we live just a couple of blocks away from PG main street where strawberry days is held.. so we decided to take advantage this last weekend. we have met so many new friends with jord's work, who we love hanging out with. so the cameron's came along with us! they have a little girl, olivia, who is just a little bit older than rowan... but rowan looooooves her. they had the funnest time at the carni! one of the rides was a little roller coaster and i truly have never seen rowan so happy, and so excited in her life. she was laughing so hard that she couldn't contain it. it was one of the sweetest 

and funniest things that i have ever seen!

{ seven months ..}

greer girl,

s e v e n months sister sue! now that summer is here, i feel like time is going to go by way fast, and then summer will end and you'll turn one before we know it. that's crazy. i am still absolutely loving this stage, you are SO SO SO much fun.... but not mobile. ha ha.

- you started sitting up on your own this last month! sitting up like a boss.

- you are still the chubbiest little thing that ever was. your thighs! oh your thighs. they just kill me. your rolls all over are just so scrumptious. daddy gets scared that i am literally going to bite you cause sometimes i just cant handle the yumminess.

- still a great sleeper. you are getting up a little bit earlier than you used to, like 7 a.m. which i swore i would never let my babies do because i am not a morning person. but you had other ideas.. and i'm not gonna lie, i love snuggling in my bed with you for a bit before your sister wakes up.

- getting you in the morning, or after your nap is one of my favorite parts of the day. you absolutely light up when you see me. your smile from ear to ear and start kicking and giggling. it makes me feel so good, and one my greatest joys as a mom.

- our pool just opened in our backyard and you LOVE swimming. you just kick and kick and love watching everyone else that's swimming.

- you are still my #1 fan.. and rowan's too.

- i am crazy about your sweet little giggle.

- you are incredibly strong! you stand up with only holding on to one of my hands. you love to stand. when you're on your tummy, you stick straight up on your arms. these are things your sister took a VERY long time to do.. so it's worth noting ;)

i don't know if it's your chubbiness, or because you're the best baby in the entire world, but i just can't get enough of you. and sometime you just turn your cheek like "okay mom, have at it." i could kiss and squeeze you all the live-long day. thanks for being such a sweet and good baby greer girl, it makes my life so much easier! love you sis.

{a little fishie...}

we have absolutely loved having a pool right in our backyard this summer! all rowan has to do is hear one little splash, and she looks out our back window and says "momma, I go swimming?" she loves loves loves the water. i'm so proud at how good she is at swimming by herself too. she really has never been afraid to get in. with her floatie, she can entertain herself for a long time! it's nice when i don't necessarily want to get in the pool and swim, i can just sit on the side and watch her. she especially loves when she has friends to play with out there. she loves to switch from the "hot pool" and the "cold pool". but momma loves when daddy gets to go swimming with us... cause he's way more fun than momma! 

so proud of our little fishie girl. 

this girl has such a special relationship with her daddy...

and i love it.

{july fourth..}

our fourth of july was laid back and relaxing. we didn't wake up early enough to make it down to the provo parade... but we headed up to lehi and spent the morning with one of rowans favorite cousins, hawsie. (she's actually very obsessed. it's kind of one-way. but she doesn't care, or notice.) we went to their neighborhood parade. rowan was kind of ornery, as you can tell from the pics. but nothin that a ton of sugar can't cure! 

we went later up to sandy and celebrated with the staples.

we are so grateful to remember those who died, fighting for our freedoms.

and those who continue to fight.

the weather is starting to get nice...

which has been pulling us outside for some much needed sun!

..and I need an excuse to take pictures of my girl ;)

she's growin like a weed. and she is funnier than ever.

we are so excited to enjoy the sun and all the activities that come with it..

including the pool in our backyard. wahoo!!
