{ thankful.. }

our thanksgiving 2014 was not as lovely as it has been in years past, but it still was a very sweet day being surrounded by our family near and dear, and remembering all that we have to be thankful for. unfortunately we had a very sick babe on our hands... and so most of our day was spent being worried about/taking care of her.... ( my dinner was cold, sigh). she really was the sickest that she's ever been in her young little life. it worried me all day long. and even though it was sad and a bit of a hard day, i still couldn't help but get emotional when i thought of what a lucky girl i am, for many reasons! holiday's, since jord and i have been married, have gotten so chaotic. it's trying to figure out going here and there, and not missing this family's thing while trying to make it to that family's thing. it sometimes takes away from the spirit of the holidays. and thanksgiving morning, i just thought that it was much better to have too many places to be, than none at all. we're so grateful to be able to be surrounded by soooo many family members that we love sharing the joy and spirit of the holidays with!
i love this time of year.

especially feeling thankful for these little turkey's, who make me feel so complete.

at the staples for dinner..
and how cute are these table decorations made by my cute SIL katelin?

  rowan enjoyed her turkey dinner verrrrrrry much! she ate just as much as i did.

 giving thanks for all of our bounteous blessings!

{ give thanks..}

today is thanksgiving. and i am truly grateful.

this morning, i was feeding greer. rowan was wrestling and giggling with her daddy. it was just one of those moments where you see the big picture.... and you expect everything to just start playing in slow motion with music in the background. life couldn't be better. i have millions of reasons to be grateful, but today, i am extremely grateful for my sweet little family.

happy thanksgiving.

{thanksgiving}

our thanksgiving was awesome... even if most of it was spent in the car going from place to place. two delicious dinners was worth it! its fun to spend time with our families. and it was especially nice to have our dad home for 4 days in a row!

thanks, tare, for snappin some very fast pics for us. and as always- i take a.l.o.t. of rowan.
....sorry, not sorry.....

love my people.

{first thanksgiving}

baby rowan had her first thanksgiving! and her momma is so lame to forget the camera, so we had to take pictures when we got back, and the lighting was terrible (of course!). but you still gotta have those moments, right? we had such a fun few hours with our dad before he had to go to work--working retail is laaaaame this time of year--- but our thanksgiving dinner was yum, and we were grateful to spend at least most of the day together.
.... and even though this little bug was suffering from double ear and double eye infections, you would never know it. (minus the goopy eyes). she's still the happiest little girl around.

{im in love with these little "newsie" pants from h&m, thank you for coming to utah!}

i had to cut 7 inches off my hair last week. and yes, i HAD to. the day before our girls trip, i remembered how desperate i was for a trim. and since hair-girl was all the way down in orem, i thought i would just run to dollar cuts, since it was just a trim. she seriously botched up all the layers in my hair. it was absolutely terrible. i should have known. and yes, the lesson was learned.

i cant believe this was me last thanksgiving....

i am truly grateful for all the usual things in my life: my sweet husband, my family, the Gospel, my home, my health (etc). but i cant help but feel beyond blessed to have something that i didn't have last year... rowan. what a blessing it is to be a mother. to look into her sweet little eyes everyday and know that she is mine forever. to go and get her from her naps and see that glowing smile on her face and see her throw her face into her blanket because she is just too excited to see her momma. to have her stop crying when she nestles in my neck and gets comforted. to see her start to learn things. i could go on and on but i am teary-eyed just thinking about that sweet baby rowan. i love being a mom. especially to her.

anyways, hope your turkey fest was as lovely as ours!

update...

what the? how did i get soo behind on blogging.....
well, the updates that were, have come and gone.
and i have SO much to do with pulling off graduating in 3 weeks.
so here ya go..

Thanksgiving:
we had such a fun thanksgiving break.
the MASSIVE storm (it really was big up here on logan) allowed me and jord to stay in for a couple days, where we had our sweats, hot cocoa, and lots of movies and laughs together.
it was so nice.
When we finally made it down south to our families,
we had an intense Nelson Family game of basketball (thanksgiving morning tradition!),
a fun snowy ride to heber to eat a scrumptious meal at the Staples Cabin,
and another ride back down to Orem to celebrate my brothers birthday!
(and then we attempted black friday... it ALMOST ruined my Christmas spirit, some people are NUTS!)

california: (two weeks ago)
wish i could post the millions of pics i took,
and the details of the amazing trip that it was...
but just imagine sitting at a beach house,
(after a few barf bags on the plane ride ;)
tons of food,
tons of fun,
lots of laughs,
an amazing 50th birthday celebration for an amazing mother-in-law,
and a classic day at disneyland.
IT WAS AWESOME.

baby updates:
here is week 18, 19 & 20 ;)

20 weeks: What I know Now

  • its so nice knowing what we are having. But oh my gosh, it is so weird going to the girl section of baby gap instead of the boy section! (Remember that there are 5 nephews on my side and no girls... our little peanut is going to be the first one!)
  •  Her little kicks are SOOO sweet! i love feeling her move around. They are still rare enough during the day that it makes me smile.. i just love feeling her! I wish jord could though.....
  • Uh, my bladder is getting smaller and smaller, i will just leave it at that.
  •  It so nice having my energy back, but now all that energy is being forced on these last few weeks of school! GRRRR. i CAN NOT WAIT TO BE DONE!
  • Almost the first day of my 2nd trimester, i started getting headaches. not fun. and then eye infections started. not fun either. (and so weird!)
  •  I havent been able to eat cafe rio since day #1 of being pregnant. and it is seriously so depressing... come on baby girl, how come you dont like it?!?!?!
  • Lately, I really like Symphony Bars with almonds & toffee, and Pasta, and Pizza. Awesome for the "I'm gonna be really good about eating well" mentality. And they just brought out Christmas Candy. GREAT.
  • When we went to Fetal Foto, we got a 10 minute DVD of our baby girl moving around. She is SO BIG! And its funny how much her personality already shows. She was waving at us, and playing with her nose and mouth, and sucking her thumb, it was so sweet! And the tech told us that she has a little curled pinky toe, I got so excited cause I DO TOO! I cant believe how much I love her already!

anyways, hope you all had a fun Thanksgiving Break.
BRING ON CHRISTMAS!
