she's getting too big too fast!
i've had this post ready since she was one month-- so here it is.

wow, blogging has become a little more difficult with a newborn ;)
but alot has happened this last month that needs to be documented,
cause we have experienced alot of firsts-- and i've gone a little crazy with the pics.
i'll keep it to a minimum.
but first-- a couple people asked how we picked the name rowan:
my moms sisters come up with really original (not crazy) names for their kids, so i asked them to help me come up with a few. rowan was one of them. i loved it right off the bat, but it was on the "back burner" because i didn't think it was the most feminine name. but the more i thought about other names, i couldn't stop thinking about rowan. i changed my mind about names every week, but rowan was the only one that stuck. it took some convincing with jord. we kind of kept it a secret, and i truly did want to see her before i decided 100% that was her name. the second i saw her, i knew she was a rowan. and i think it fits her perfectly!

{two week dr. apt}: 7 lbs (20th %), 20 3/4 inches long (75 %)
she put on weight really fast! good girl!

my sweet litte rowan,
my first letter to you. its so exciting that you are here! when i got up to feed you this morning, i cried just a little bit thinking of the last month with you. we have experienced so many things together.. along with your dad. we've definitely had a lot of firsts; your first car ride, your first blowout, your first bath, your first dr. apt when they checked your jaundice (i think i cried harder than you did), your first walk, your first trip down to see your mom & dad's families... the list goes on and on. everything has been so exciting!
a few things that i absolutely love:
-your dimples!!! oh how i love your dimples. your dad and i werent completely surprised when you came out with dimples on both sides.. since we both have them. but they are definitely your dads dimples and i just love them.
- you are SUCH a pretty baby! your cute little features, all your dark hair, and your dark skin. I mean, i know im your mom, but come on, you're SO STINKIN CUTE!
- i love when you are done eating, cause you smack your lips and its precious. it makes me feel so good that you like what you are eating ;)
- you are so strong! you started holding your head up even when we were in the hospital. and you love to kick those long legs of yours.. and they are hard kicks! (i felt them when you were in my tummy so its not too much of a surprise).
- i know this is funny.. but you are such a pooper! we are changing about 18 poopy diapers a day. crazy girl! we've discovered that you like to poop when you have a fresh diaper on. no matter how long we wait... when that new diaper comes on, you go! you had your first blowout all over momma last week. i thought it was hilarious... but now your daddy gets nervous changing your diaper ;)

- i love your "square mouth cry" that you do. the first time i held you when you came out, you were doing your square mouth cry, so everytime i see it, i am reminded of the first time i held you. it makes me so happy!
- i love when you are nursing. you stare up at me and it makes me feel like you know that i am your momma. i love that bond we have when you are nursing, and im so grateful that i am able to do that with you.
- you love to be snuggled. and i love to snuggle with you!

- you're sleeping so awesome! at 2 weeks you started sleeping 5 hours at night, and at 3 weeks you started sleeping 6-7 hours at night!!! how did momma get so lucky?
- your sweet little smile melts my heart! i have gotten you to smile when you are looking at me once or twice... i know thats something that develops in the next month or so. but that smile is worth a million bucks little girl.
you really are the most perfect baby, rowan. we know how lucky we are to have such a sweet little girl in our home and in our family. you have been so patient with me and your dad while we have tried to figure out this whole parenting thing. but we cant imagine how we ever lived our lives without you. you have changed us completely! (continue the patience thing, cause we are still learnin ;). we love you more than you can ever imagine!
