oh Mexico! {part one}

the best trip of my life.
we went to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, and the end of a school year, and just to have a good time with eachother and some of our best friends, shawnee and preston. we booked this cruise about six months ago, so we waited a loooong time for it.
and it came and went so fast. i can hardly believe its over.
{this will probably be the longest post, but just so you know we took about 450 pictures. be thankful im not posting that many :) i would normally do a post with every 45 minutes of this vacation because we did that many things, and met the most interesting/funny people. but i wont bore you with every detail.. so these are just the highlights! i guess i will do a part one and part two}

preface:
humidity + my hair = pure chaos.
{for any of you 'friends' fans, i felt like monica in bermuda when her hair is huge... funniest episode}
getting my hair wet in the beginning of the day + no blow drier or straightener = pure chaos
im over it.

we started our road trip to LA by stopping in vegas for a night. the boys had one goal in mind: find the gold and silver pawn shop. its one of jords favorite shows, and it showed.

we also stayed the night at buffalo bills and rode the roller coaster. after being mauled by ten thousand moths at the top of it, and readjusting my neck, it seriously was such a fun one. ya gotta ride it!
and then we boarded the cruise and set sail!

our first couple days were at sea; so we spent alot of time laying out, playing mini golf, eating ice cream 5x a day, and being entertained. me and jord went to the shows they had every night.. and LOVED them! i couldn't believe we were getting in for free.

and of course, our first formal night

this is one of my favorite pictures of the trip, this sunset was UNBELIEVABLE. me and jord stayed out there for about a half hour and just talked and laughed, and watched that amazing sunset.

and this was the sun when it was setting. gorgeous!

our first port was Puerto Vallarta. first thing's first. i have BEGGED jord to swim with the dolphins on the last couple cruises we went on. but it never worked out. Swimming with dolphins has always been a DREAM of mine honestly since i was a little girl. it was something on my "bucket list". and since shawnee felt the same, i knew this was my chance. to do this excursion through the boat cost $180. and we thought we could strike a better deal than that if we did it on our own. so as soon as we got off the boat on this port, we told a taxi to take us anywhere we could swim with the dolphins. and he took us to the most sketchy water park i've ever seen in my life. i promise that it would NEVER pass U.S. regulations. but anyway, it was on to the dolphins. we struck GOLD. for $100, shawnee and i were escorted to a private pool to swim with a mom and her BABY! are you kidding me? how the heck did we get so lucky while the other people {who paid $180} swam in a big pool next to us in a group of 12, and swam with two dolphins. again i say, we struck GOLD. a baby dolphin!?!?!? i still cant get over how lucky we are.

so needless to say, this was the absolute highlight of the trip.

{they made us meet this massive sea lion before we could swim with the dolphins.. i didn't love him}

after getting to know the dolphin, the trainer had us swim out to the middle of the pool so she could make circles around us, and we could feel her as she swam by. baby dolphin was SOO precious, but we couldn't touch her because the mom was a little protective. she just stayed with her momma, it was sooo cute. she pops in on some of these pictures too.

{momma was swimming right under me}

{baby swimming by me}

i love this picture that jord took. you get such a good luck at all four of us :)

{underwater camera wasn't so awesome, but i still love this picture of both of them}

here she is giving me a kiss! and doin a little dance.. i guess :)

then she took us for a ride on our belly, and pushed us on a boogie board.
fyi: apparently i make hideous faces when im really excited.

she did tons of tricks for us, and of course there are 150 more pictures.... but just take my word for it. it was an amazing experience.shawnee and i were on CLOUD 9.

{saying goodbye to them}

worth every penny. i wish i could say i was sorry for the million pictures,
but i was fulfilling a dream people, come on.

the rest of the day was spent at the sketchy water park where half of the slides were broken, or were probably broken after the four of us rode them. they were soo sketchy {did i already say that?} i ripped my swimsuit on one, and bruised my hip, and preston fell on his head. i
thought to myself "no wonder there is NO ONE at this water park, all the locals probably have had a relative die here". yes, it was that scary. but a funny memory nonetheless. and then we walked around for awhile and ate dinner before we headed back to the ship.

{jord and preston were brave enough to eat taco's off the street, shawnee and i were not}

that was part one....
parasailing, kayacking, snorkeling coming soon.
